Malteaser Fudge Pie Tutorial

This Malteaser Fudge Pie Tutorial is the perfect way to use up all those leftover Maltesers that we intended for teachers and relatives but never made it there. In fact, it works for most celebration chocolates.

Hands up who has loads of chocolate and biscuits leftover and no idea what to do with it? Well, help is here! I’m going to show you how to use up those pesky leftover ingredients to make something a little bit special! Malteaser Fudge Pie!

What you’ll need to make Malteaser Fudge Pie:

  • A tin of condensed milk
  • 200g Dark Chocolate
  • 200g Milk Chocolate
  • 75g Icing Sugar
  • 75g Horlicks
  • 200-300g of Maltesers or another leftover celebration chocolate.
  • 125g Leftover digestives (or other biscuits will do the trick)
  • 5 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 85g Melted Butter
  • A pot of Double cream (or whatever you have left!) (we all know we got too much to go with the Christmas Pud nobody ate)
  • A pie tin with removable bottom: These are the ones I have:

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 190 C. Line the bottom of a spring-loaded tin with baking parchment.
  2. Place your biscuits in a sandwich bag and smash them up with a rolling pin. (Or put them in the mixer if you have no post-Christmas aggression to release.) Once bashed up, mix in the melted butter and caster sugar.
  3. Put the biscuit base into the tin and around the edges for a lovely crust. Place in the oven for around 8 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, make the fudge; Put the dark chocolate, milk chocolate and condensed milk in a saucepan and melt on a low heat stirring all the time.
  5. Once a melted and mixed add the malt powder and icing sugar a little at a time and stir well (and fast, it gets stiff quick), remove from the heat.
  6. Add in 3/4 of the Maltesers or other celebration chocolate. Put to one side.
  7. Empty the double cream into a large bowl and whisk with an electric whisk until stiff peaks.
  8. Next, assemble your pie. Push the fudge into the biscuit base you made earlier, top with the whipped cream and decorate with the remaining celebration chocolate, put in the fridge to set.
  9. Finally, serve and enjoy!
